Sliding gates have gained their popularity due to the principle of operation, which provides a number of advantages compared to swing gates.
The design of the sliding gate is a steel frame with a decorative canvas, which is also called sewing.
Two supports with rollers are installed in the foundation; gates with a profile beam (supporting frame) in the lower part are put on these rollers. The rollers are completely hidden in the profile beam, thanks to which the gates have an aesthetic appearance both from the front and the inside. The supporting structure is made of steel or aluminum.
The principle of operation of the sliding gate is simple – the door leaf moves to the right or left along the fence. Sometimes they say sliding gates move sideways.
Retractable cantilever doors have many advantages:
- no space is required in front of the house and from the street for opening. You will appreciate this advantage to the maximum in winter, when the snow will fall and you will not need to clear it to open the gate;
- there are no restrictions on the size of the gate in width and height. The design itself can be any size. The only restriction may be the length of the fence along which the entire cantilever structure of the gate moves;
- open doorway for entry of vehicles of any height. Modern sliding gates do not have lower and upper horizontal guide rails in the opening.
